Parish Groups
Our Parish has a number of groups that enrich the life of the Parish. The main groups are listed below. If you would like to join one of the groups please look out in the newsletter for details or ask a member of the parish after Holy Mass.
The Guild of St Stephen
This is the guild of our Altar Servers. We are fortunate to have a number of dedicated servers, but we will also welcome new servers once they have made their First Holy Communion and have been invited to serve.
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) See the "Not a Catholic?" Page
This group meets to welcome and help enquirers about learn more about the Catholic faith.
The Parish Task Force
This group was formed to raise funds for the major work we have undertaken over the last fourteen years. This has developed to a group that organize a wide range of exciting activities for the Parish which provide a wonderful social aspect to our parish life. Events include Film nights, Summer fairs, St Patrick's Craic Night, Concerts, Skittles Evenings and Ceilidhs, to name just a few.
The Parish Fabric & Finance Committee
This is a body required by Canon law in a Parish and is advisory to the Parish Priest. It is made up of men and women from the parish which ensures and inspires the stewardship of parish property and goods entrusted to the care of the Parish Priest on behalf of the Parish. It meets regularly and helps the Parish Priest make decisions about the maintenance, development and use of all that we hold.
Friday Soup Run
A dedicated group of parishioners meet on the first Friday afternoon of each month and on the fifth Friday too if there is one, to prepare sandwiches and home-made soup for the homeless in Bath. They then distribute the food to the homeless at an arranged place in the City and not only provide food, but also a friendly face and somebody to talk with if they wish. The service is invaluable and help is always needed.
Please think of joining one of our parish Groups, or if you can't commit to something on a regular basis then do think about coming to one of the social events or putting your name down on the cleaning or flower rotas with others. It's a good way not only to help the parish, but also to meet more people and build up our community of faith and friendship.
