The Younger members of our Parish

Our Young are the future of our parishes and there are lots of things happening to involve them in our Parish here, either learning about their faith, helping in the church, getting together socially, being an Altar Server or reader or musician. There are regular sessions all year round for First Holy Communion and Confirmation, as well as rehearsals for our regular Bath Catholic Youth Masses. It's up to us to encourage them in their journey of faith and life of the Community of faith here in our Parish. Check the weekly bulletin for what's going on in the parish.
If you are a student in Bath then do check out the Bath Catholic student website bath-catholics.org.uk or ask Father Bill for more information about student life, as he is the Catholic Chaplain to the two Universities in Bath.

Confirmation Group
Last year we had 12 young people Confirmed by our Bishop Declan. They prepared very well for many months and now the group are continuing to meet after their Confirmation for social time together, preparing Youth Masses, and learning more about their Catholic faith. We hope that more young people will join the group.
Altar Servers and the Guild of St Stephen
We have a growing number of altar boys and girls in the parish who have regular training sessions and get together socially for skittles or meals together. They are all members of the Guild of St Stephen which promotes and supports the highest standards of altar serving throughout the Catholic Church. Each year on St Stephen's Feast day (December 26th), our altar servers renew their promises and receive their medals and certificates for their dedicated service.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Most Sundays, during the 10am Sunday Celebration of Holy Mass, our younger children who have not made their First Holy Communion go to the Apostles' Room attached to the church for their own Liturgy of the Word. We have dedicated and experienced Catechists who prepare the Children's Liturgy each week following the seasons and readings of the Church's year in a fun and gentle way according to the ages of the group.
The children listen to the Gospel and have creative activities to help their understanding. There are also prayers and singing. The children return to the main Mass, with whatever they have made at the time of the offertory and bring their wonderful offerings and gifts to the priest at the altar.
